A moving double-decker private bust going from Sector-37 Noida to Siwan, Bihar, caught fire on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway on Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said. Around 60 passengers in the moving bus had to jump off the bus to save themselves, officials said. Gautam Buddha Nagar's Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar said that the fire was caused by a short circuit and there was no loss of life in the incident. “We acted as soon we received the information. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and it was doused. First, we rescued the passengers and then doused the fire. One person received a minor injury while jumping off the bus, who was provided with first aid,” said Kumar. He said the belongings of almost all the passengers were burnt in the fire. A video also went viral over social media, where it can be seen that huge smoke and flames were coming out of the burning bus. Meanwhile, in another incident the same day evening, a double decker bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway near the zero point, police said. They said the incident took place on around 100th meters of the expressway and the bus was going towards Bihar's Darbhanga from Delhi. Fire officials said that there was no loss of life in the incident.
