Bellary miner duped of Rs 3 cr

A businessman from Bellary,Karnataka,was reportedly duped of Rs 3 crore by four men in Delhi,who promised to help him get a mining permit.

A businessman from Bellary,Karnataka,was reportedly duped of Rs 3 crore by four men in Delhi,who promised to help him get a mining permit.

He approached Parliament Street police station two days ago,and claimed that the incident took place last year. Police said he met the four men in Delhi who told him that they knew ministers and officials who would help get him a mining permit. He was then taken to a minister’s house. The men told him the minister has agreed to help him,but he must pay Rs 5 crore. The man told police that he paid Rs 1.8 crore after he was told that he would get his permit within a week.

He was later told to pay more money. “I paid them Rs 75 lakh,” he claimed.

“A month went by and he was still to get the papers. When he called up the men,asking them to return the money,they threatened him with dire consequences if he continued to pester them,” a police officer said.

A case of cheating has been registered against the four men.
