Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal, Kapil Sibal, 'non-electoral' political platform, Delhi news, New Delhi, Indian Express, current affairsSibal spoke about the need to bring forth a people's movement for justice and said that the "foundation of Constitution is justice... economic, social and political."

Launching a “non-electoral” political platform, ‘Insaaf’, at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal spoke out against the recent raids on opposition party members, the collapse of elected governments and incidents of lynching as he stressed on the importance of justice.

Sibal spoke about the need to bring forth a people’s movement for justice and said that the “foundation of Constitution is justice… economic, social and political.”

Talking about political justice,Sibal said, “You bring down an elected government. The Governor is yours, the speaker of yours, there is no interference from the courts. They have brought down eight elected governments like this. Have you heard of this happening elsewhere that an elected government is brought down? This is not political justice.”

Sibal then spoke CBI and ED arrests of opposition members.

“When the ED looks at India’s map they look at it with a bizzare view point, they only look at those states where opposition party has a government,” Sibal said.

“Think of the Constitution as a vehicle. Modi ji is the driver, one wheel is the parliament, the second wheel is the election commission, and the third wheel is the executive, that is in their possession, the fourth wheel is the judiciary they are trying to get that in their possession. When the driver has possesion of all wheels, then the ED will say you can go anywhere. What kind of democracy is this? What kind of India will we make in the future ?

He also spoke about the recent incidents of lynching: “Look at what is happening in Bihar, some people were lynched there, look at what is happening in Haryana… two people were burnt, people come into Universities to do violence. You will lock up students in UAPA?”

Talking about the economic justice, Sibal said, “Perhaps you don’t know this; there are 80 crore peoplein this country, whose salary per month is less than Rs 5,000.”

“The India right is now Modi’s India, it is Amit Shah’s India, it is RSS’s India. Tomorrow’s India will make it an India for everyone… the country’s wealth is not made by Industrialists, they make their wealth and go abroad. When young people go to Universities, they think of change, how to make a scientific change… the violence which we see in our Universities, then how do we see the birth of intellectual property? You put your own RSS vice-chancellor, that standard of education that you want, you will not get. I want to bat for an alternative vision for India.”
