Delhi Police Bribe News: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was arrested on Monday night for allegedly taking a bribe from a retired policeman. The ASI had allegedly sought the bribe to allow renovation at the complainant’s home, said police.
The arrested ASI has been identified as Sudesh, who was posted at the Model Town police station. The retired officer lived in an area under its jurisdiction.
Aslam Khan, Additional Commissioner of Police, said, “The retired inspector submitted a complaint four days ago. He claimed he was getting some renovation work done at his house and the ASI demanded Rs 4 lakh as bribe for the work to continue.”

“On Monday night, when the complainant was handing over Rs 2 lakh, he was caught red-handed,” he added.
According to the police, the complainant provided a voice recording in which the ASI was allegedly heard demanding money.
A case of corruption has been registered by the vigilance unit of the Delhi Police.
The police are also investigating whether the station house officer (SHO) of the Model Town police station was involved, as the ASI allegedly mentioned his name while seeking the bribe.
