Arushi-Hemraj murder: Rajkumar fears for life,requests security

Rajkumar,who was once an accused in the Arushi-Hemraj murder case,arrived at Meerut to meet the Meerut Inspector General and demanded security cover.

Rajkumar,who was once an accused in the Arushi-Hemraj murder case,arrived at Meerut to meet the Meerut Inspector General and demanded security cover.

He fears that his life is in danger in India. After reaching India,the Nepal resident went straight to Meerut to put in his request for security.

Naresh Yadav,Rajkumar’s lawyer,accompanied him to Meerut.

“In January,he lived for around a month in India without security. Considering the risk to his life,he should be provided with security every time he visits the country,” said Yadav.

According to the lawyer,the CBI has called in Rajkumar for questioning. He will be staying in Ghaziabad for some time.

When contacted,IG Meerut,Javed Akhtar,said that he has heard out Rajkumar and his lawyer and that the district police have been informed about his request for security.

“We’ve asked the district police to inspect the place where Rajkumar will be staying and see whether or not he needs the security,” he added.
