Arrows draw 1-1 with ONGC

A goal in the dying seconds helped hosts ONGC rally from a goal down and eke out a 1-1draw against Indian Arrows in the round 15 I-League match in Kolhapur on Wednesday.

A goal in the dying seconds helped hosts ONGC rally from a goal down and eke out a 1-1draw against Indian Arrows in the round 15 I-League match in Kolhapur on Wednesday. After a barren first half,the visitors took the lead in the 86th minute through defender Jeje Lalpekhlua. However,ONGC’s Kamal Thapa scored moments before the final hooter went out to secure a draw for the home team. Following the draw,ONGC have 11 points from 15 games,while Indian Arrows have 15 points from as many matches.

The Arrows who are based in the capital and coached by Englishman Trevor Bulpin,are now placed 10th in the 14 team I League. The Arrows comprise of young players which the AIFF hopes to groom for qualifying the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. They next play I League giants East Bengal at the Tau Devi Lal stadium in Gurgaon on the 26th of the month.
