22-yr-old held for kidnapping girl
A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a teenager he was in a relationship with,the police said on Tuesday. Ravi,a resident of Faridabad,had allegedly kidnapped the girl,based in South Delhis Mehrauli,on June 11. The girls father had raised suspicion about Ravi,Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said. Several raids were conducted,after which the girl was rescued.
Senior citizen robbed at gunpoint
Four masked robbers barged into the house of an East Delhi resident and robbed her at gunpoint on Tuesday afternoon. Santosh Jaitley,60,was alone at her residence in Rajgarh,Krishna Nagar,at the time of the incident. Jewellery worth lakhs and more than Rs 20,000 were robbed. It appears someone known to the victims is behind the incident, said a police official.
Fire near Pragati Maidan Metro station
A minor fire was reported at the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFCC) board atop Pragati Maidan Metro station around 6.30 pm on Tuesday. Officials suspect the fire was caused by a short-circuit. No one was hurt.
