Jayachandran in 11-day judicial custody
A city court on Saturday sent former CWG Organising Committee official M Jayachandran to 11 days’ judicial custody in the case related to alleged financial bunglings in the conduct of the Queen’s Baton Relay in London last year. Special CBI Judge A S Yadav remanded Jayachandran to judicial custody till December 8.

Arms racket: Girl in observation home
A girl,who is alleged to be a part of a syndicate selling illegal semi-automatic weapons and ammunition to criminals,was sent to an observation home by a city court on Saturday. The court took into consideration the findings of a medical board,which concluded that the girl,who is pursuing Class XII through the Open School stream,is a minor.

Case against four Gzb councillors
A case has been registered against four councillors on charges of assaulting a senior executive engineer working in the Municipal Corporation here,the police said on Saturday. The incident happened on Friday evening when A K Singh was conducting a probe over rail-bridge widening work in Brij Vihar here,the police added.

MCD cracks down on errant teachers
The MCD has suspended a principal and 11 teachers and also terminated the contract of 14 teachers after finding irregularities in discipline and attendance. Action was taken taken after an inspection of MCD Primary School,second shift,at Rajeev Nagar,and MCD Primary School at Mukundpur.
