NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday directed the Director General of Health Services to constitute a medical board,comprising five experts,for medical evaluation of the two patients who suffered due to radiation in Mayapuri scrap market in May. The court asked the board to submit a report by August 25.

Technician killed family,self: Cops
GURGAON: The postmortem reports of Maruti Udyog technician Dharam Pal Taneja,his wife and son have revealed Taneja first strangulated his family,then consumed a “poisonous substance”. DCP (West) Ved Prakash said the report states the deaths occurred at 2.30 pm on Thursday. It also reveals Neetu (36) and Arpit (10) died due to asphyxiation,while Taneja died of poisoning. “We have sent the samples to determine the poison,” he said.

Embassy official’s chain snatched
NEW DELHI: Two motorcycle-borne men snatched the gold chain of a senior official of the Netherlands Embassy at gunpoint in East Delhi on Friday. Ila Singh,Senior Programme Officer (Press and Culture) at the embassy,was walking towards a bus stop at around 7.10 am when the assailants snatched her chain and sped away.

At protest,DTC man threatens suicide
NEW DELHI: At a protest by temporary DTC employees at IP Estate on Friday morning,a DTC employee climbed up a 100-feet light pole and threatened to jump off if anyone tried to rescue him. Kailash Chand,45,came down at 5 pm when senior DTC officials assured him a decision would be taken on their demands in a week.
