HC extends bail for Sharafat Sheikh

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Monday extended the interim bail of Sharafat Sheikh,facing trial for running a drugs syndicate,to allow him to attend to his ailing mother. Justice S Muralidhar granted interim bail to Sheikh on the condition that he will surrender on July 1,a day after his mother has undergone a surgery. Sheikh is standing trial for allegedly running a drug syndicate spread across North India and Mumbai.

Man dies in mishap in Saraswati Vihar

New Delhi: A 26-year-old electrician was run over by a vehicle in Northwest Delhi,police said on Monday. The incident occurred in Saraswati Vihar around 10.45 pm on Sunday,and the deceased was identified as Rajesh,a resident of Kotla Mubarakpur. According to police,the vehicle ran over him while he was home on a motorcycle. He was rushed to a nearby hospital,where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Woman,lover held for murdering husband

New Delhi: A woman and her paramour were arrested along her son-in-law for allegedly murdering her “alcoholic” husband,who used to allegedly beat her up and extort money from her,police said on Monday. Asha,her paramour Surender and Sonu allegedly murdered Pradeep in Karawal Nagar on Sunday and dumped his body in a drain. “All the three have been arrested,” Additional DCP (Northeast) B K Singh said,adding that a case has been registered.
