Pakistani national held for taking photos inside Metro train
A Pakistani national was detained at Rajouri Garden Metro Station after he was found clicking pictures of a woman. Officials said nothing suspicious has been found against him but he is being interrogated by Intelligence and Delhi Police officers. Mohammed Ramzan (35),a resident of Lahore,was detained after passengers noticed him taking photos of the woman and informed the CISF officials. Officials said CCTV footage confirmed he was clicking the photos. Some photos of a woman were found in his phone, said an official. Ramzan has told the police he was not aware that photography was prohibited in Metro.
HC asks Traffic Police to follow SC orders
The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered the Traffic Police to comply with Supreme Courts directions on challaning vehicles and their seizure for violation of traffic laws. The court was hearing a petition by a transporter who had alleged that his Blueline bus was illegally impounded twice by the traffic police for a single offence and the penalty was imposed by a non-gazetted officer,who had no jurisdiction to issue such challan.
Within hours of the Supreme Courts refusal to entertain it,a petition seeking the removal of Suresh Kalmadi as the OC chairman was filed in the Delhi High Court on Monday afternoon. After withdrawing his petition from the SC,advcoate Ajay Agrawal moved the High Court. He has demanded a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the multi-million rupee deals that were struck for the Commonwealth Games preparations.
Narela double murder:2 history-sheeters held
The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has arrested two men involved in a double murder case in Narela. The police suspect inter-gang rivalry as the motive behind the murder. The accused,identified as Kaptan Singh and Suresh,are both residents of Narela. On August 12,the accused had ambushed and killed one Ravikant and his brother-in -law Sushil. Three other members of Kaptans gang have already been arrested. Kaptan has 12 criminal cases against him,including that of murder,kidnapping and rape,while Suresh faces six criminal cases.
