NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the MCD to comply with its previous order on improving the conditions,including the basic amenities,at its schools. It also a issued notice to the NCERT director and sought a response after the bench was informed that books were not being supplied to students. Taking suo motu cognizance of a media report that a few MCD schools were being run in tents due to lack of infrastructure,the Bench directed the MCD to construct school buildings and improve their infrastructure.

4 held for vehicle theft in separate incidents

New Delhi: Four persons,including a transport firm owner and a software professional,were arrested for allegedly stealing vehicles,police said on Wednesday. Police said they recovered 11 vehicles from their possession. Ranjit Singh (34),a transporter,was nabbed from Samaipur Badli while he was allegedly trying to sell a stolen SUV on Sunday. In another case,three youths — Subhash Sehgal (23),Avinash Kumar (24) and Rishi Sharma (25) — were arrested from Tilak Nagar and six motorcycles recovered. Sehgal works with a private company in Delhi while Avinash is employed as a software engineer in Faridabad.
