Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash transferred to Department of Telecom

He had claimed that he was made to sit between AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal and, as soon as he started speaking, was punched and slapped by the two. He had further claimed that his spectacles fell on the ground.

In the aftermath, fissures had deepened to the point that Delhi government officers refused to attend meetings or take phone calls by ministers. Communication, at least for a while, existed only through written channels.

Prakash recently approached the Delhi High Court again, challenging the “breach of privilege” proceedings initiated against him on complaints by two Delhi Assembly committees. Prakash had filed a similar complaint in March.

According to sources, additional chief secretary Manoj Parida, who is also the Home department secretary, will take over from Prakash in the interim. Delhi government officials said they had no prior information about the decision to transfer Prakash, and learnt about it only when the notification was made public.
