While the Delhi University colleges are busy preparing their hostels for the Games,students have been rendered homeless. Newsline takes a look at the accommodation crisis gripping DU students at present.

Applications received by DU this year 1.8 lakh
Total number of seats 54,000
Percentage of seats occupied by outstation students 15 per cent

Biggest hostel in DU St Stephens,with 380 seats,190 each for boys and girls
Of the seven co-ed colleges in DU that provide hostel facilities,only four have on-campus residential facility for girls.
Cost of PGs range between Rs 4,000 to Rs 20,000 per month.
Hostel fees ranges between Rs 10,000 and 45,000 per year
