Four persons died in a road accident in Greater Noida on Wednesday afternoon, after a Uttar Pradesh State Road Corporation's (UPSRTC) bus driver allegedly fell unconscious and the bus hit three motorcycles. No bus passengers were injured. Police said that the accident took place in the Dankaur area, when the UPSRTC bus was heading towards Bulandshahr from Dankaur. ADCP (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar said, "While approaching the main road from Mandi Shyam Nagar Bridge around 1 pm, the driver Devendra, allegedly suffered some kind of medical episode and lost consciousness." The deceased have been identified as Sunil, 30, a resident of Dhamni village in Bulandshahr, Karan, 22, a resident of Sikandarabad, Madan, 26, of Hathras and Kamlesh, 35, of Mirzapur. Police said the bodies have all been sent for post-mortem. Another police official said that the bus rammed into a bike - Apache - and the rider, Karan, died on the spot. The bus then sped and hit another motorcycle and its rider, Sunil also died on the spot. Descending from the overbridge, the bus then collided with the third bike that was being ridden by brothers-in-law Madan and Kamlesh. Madan died while Kamlesh suffered serious injuries. According to officials, the bus, which was still out of control, hit an unoccupied car, causing chaos on the road. Finally, it hit an unoccupied tractor and came to a halt. An injured Kamlesh was rushed to NIMS hospital but he succumbed to his injuries there. Police said that the driver was out of danger, but it is unclear how he lost consciousness. The matter is under investigation.
