Four people who were allegedly involved in the botched abortion and death of a 38-year-old woman in Jewar were arrested on Saturday, said police. “Four more suspects invoked in the case are on the run,” said police.

The suspects have been identified as Jamshed, a resident of Jewar, Manoj Kumar, a doctor from Khusalabad village, Dibai, Bulandshahr, Mithilesh Devi, wife of Manoj Kumar; and Raj Bahadur, who works as medical staff with Manoj Kumar.

“The deceased was identified as Mubina, a resident of Jewar, whose remains have been recovered from the bushes of a village Anupsahar and sent for post-mortem,” said the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida, Saad Miya Khan.

“On August 15, Mubina’s son, Wasim filed a complaint with Jewar police saying his mother had been missing since August 6,” said the DCP. Investigation and analysis of mobile records showed that Mubina, a widow, was in a relationship with Jamshed, a neighbour of the family,” said the officer.
