A case under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(a) (death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at IP Estate police station.A 24-year-old man was arrested from Kamla Nagar in Agra in connection to a hit-and-run incident that led to the death of a 35-year-old man on November 2. Police also recovered the vehicle used in the crime.
Police received information about the accident from LNJP hospital, where the victim, Rajendra Gupta, was brought dead. A resident of Ram Nagar in East Delhi, he was found on the road with severe injuries.

After scrutinising hours of CCTV camera footage and cross-verifying vehicle details, the police identified a car as the vehicle involved in the accident. Ownership details obtained revealed that the car belonged to Harshit Mehta, police said.
A notice under the Motor Vehicles Act was served to Mehta, who later surrendered at IP Estate police station. He also produced the car involved in the hit-and-run, police said.
