The Police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a software engineer,Prateek Trikha,on November 21.

The Police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a software engineer,Prateek Trikha,on November 21. The accused,Shakarpur residents Krishna Moorti (23) and Neeraj (21),were held in Vijay Vihar. The two were found to be involved in 18 criminal cases,ranging from murder to possession of narcotics and arms. Prateek,employed with a private company at Noida,was returning from a wedding when he was fatally shot near the Ram Mandi locality. The accused fled in his Honda City.

The police later received information that a gang active in the area may have been involved. Three other accused are absconding,the police said.

Ashok Chand,Deputy Commissioner of Police,Crime and Railways,said,“On the night of November 21,the five-member gang set out to commit a robbery when they noticed Prateek and tried to rob him. When he resisted,Shrikanth allegedly shot him. The gang then fled on their bikes and Prateek’s car,leaving behind one of their bikes.”

The police later found out that the bike was stolen from Rani Bagh. Prateek’s ATM card and driving licence have also been recovered. The police are yet to recover the stolen car. A reward has been announced for information on the absconding.
