Bangalore: Two youths were crushed under a lorry and one died in hospital after a motorcycle was involved in a head on collision with a lorry on Budigere Road near Hoskote on Friday morning. The victims have been identified as Pandu,20,Nazir Pasha,20 and Gopal,25,three friends and residents of Konadasanapura who worked as bar benders at construction sites. The Avalahalli police said the incident happened around 8.30 am when the youths were on their way to Budigere for work on the motorcycle. They hit a lorry and Pandu and Pasha died at the spot. Gopal who was badly injured was rushed to a private hospital where he died later. The Avalahalli police have registered a case,seized both vehicles,and arrested the driver of the lorry.

Child labourer dies after falling from fourth floor

Bangalore: A 15-year-old boy who was employed as a child labourer at a construction site was killed after he fell from the fourth floor of an under construction building,owned by an advocate,at Krishnayyana Palya near Byappanahalli on Thursday. Police said the boy had been identified as Appu,15,son of Babu,a bar bender. The Byappanahalli police have registered a case of negligence against Narayana Reddy,an advocate over the incident. Police said Appu dropped out of school in Class IX and used to go to work with his friend Arun Kumar. He fell from the fourth floor of a building at 12.30 pm and was severely injured. He succumbed to the injuries in hospital. Other employees and the house owner initially told the police that Appu fell from the building while attempting fly a kite. Investigations revealed that he was also a worker at the site.
