BJP national president J P Nadda Friday visited Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu to inaugurate a party office in person. He also inaugurated through video-conferencing nine other party offices in Pudukkotai, Tiruchirapalli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Villupuram and Tiruvallur.

Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai, Union Minister L Murugan, Coimbatore South MLA and party’s national women wing president Vanathi Srinivasan and other senior functionaries were present during the event at Krishnagiri.

Addressing a public meeting shortly after the inauguration of offices, Nadda said this is a historical day for the BJP as never before were ten party offices operationalised in one go. Nadda said the BJP had decided to construct 887 district party offices across the nation and now 290 offices have already been constructed and inaugurated.

“In Tamil Nadu, there are 14 party offices and 39 more will be constructed,” Nadda said, adding that the one constructed at Krishnagiri is a state-of-the-art facility.

During the event, Nadda spoke about the party’s growth and performance in the recently-concluded North-East polls and how they were able to retain power in Tripura.

“Here in Tamil Nadu as well, the lotus will bloom. We are the only ideological, cadre-based party and have a mass following,” he said.

Claiming that while other parties are involved in divisive politics, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who changed the political culture of the country and developed report card politics to tell the people what the party does and to enable them to ask questions. Nadda added that dynasty politics and divisive politics were challenged by the politics of development.

Talking about the contribution of the BJP-led Union government to Tamil Nadu, Nadda said after 40 years, the Central Railway budget has cleared nine projects of Tamil Nadu and for the first time, the Kashi Tamil Sangamam was held where 1,500 artists from the state participated. Nadda said Modi always wanted the Tamil culture, language and tradition to be mainstreamed so that the whole country knows about the rich culture of Tamil Nadu.

He said Modi respects Tamil literature so much that he never fails to quote great Tamil poets, scholars in his speeches whenever the opportunity arises.

The BJP leader noted that sixty years back Congress ruled in Tamil Nadu but was uprooted because they could not understand the regional aspirations and regional parties attained power. However, now, all regional parties are being converted to family dynastic parties.

“They are no longer regional parties, they do not have regional aspirations. They are only for their daughters and sons,” Nadda said, citing examples of parties in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Telangana, Maharashtra, etc.

Talking about Tamil Nadu, Nadda reiterated his remark from his last visit where he noted that the ruling DMK government stands for nothing except “dynasty, money swindling and Katta panchayat”.

“I told this family party that they will not take care of the crores of Tamilians and he (M K Stalin) will take care only of his son. I have come to know that he (Stalin) has promoted his son Udhayanidhi Stalin as a minister…All dynasty parties will shrink and it is only BJP which will expand. Indian politics is not made for families,” he said.
