IMD forecasts rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry for next 7 days
It was noted that heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai and Sivaganga districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal area on Monday.

As heavy rains batter North India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast showers in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as well.
According to the latest observation by the weather department on Monday, a cyclonic circulation lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal off the north Tamil Nadu coast at 5.8 km above mean sea level.
It was noted that heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai and Sivaganga districts of Tamil Nadu and Karaikal area on Monday.

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, from Monday to Tuesday, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places while thunderstorm and lightning is expected at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
From Wednesday till Sunday, light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
As far as Chennai is concerned, sky conditions are likely to be generally cloudy. The weather department added that light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36 °C and minimum temperature is expected to be around 26-27 °C.
