In a post on 'X,' Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said, "I had written to the Union Education Minister requesting the rescheduling of the UGC NET exams. It is a rightful decision that the exams have now been postponed!(Representational Image, File Photo)Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin on Tuesday denied meeting industrialist Gautam Adani, and challenged BJP and its ally, the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), to support a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into allegations against the Adani Group.
“Neither has Adani met me nor have I met him. Do you need any more explanation on this?” Stalin said in response to PMK leader G K Mani’s question in the state Assembly. The PMK and BJP have alleged that the Tamil Nadu government has ties with the Adani Group, particularly concerning power projects.
This follows weeks of speculation fuelled by Opposition claims that Adani had met Stalin at his Chennai residence earlier this year. The CM said the state electricity department has no agreements with the Adani Group, pointing instead to a deal with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji had earlier clarified that the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) signed an agreement with SECI, a public-sector undertaking, for purchasing solar power at Rs 2.61 per unit. The agreement, finalised in September 2021, spans 25 years. Balaji also dismissed allegations that the TNEB entered into deals influenced by bribery involving the Adani Group.
