A similar incident had occurred in 2023 when a wall had also collapsed, forcing residents to pool funds for its reconstruction. Despite their collective efforts, no assistance or intervention came from local authorities at the time.

Continuous heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday caused severe waterlogging across Zirakpur, disrupting normal life. Among the worst-affected areas was the Maya Garden Phase 2 housing society on VIP Road, where a boundary wall collapsed due to the incessant downpour, raising serious safety concerns among residents.
With the wall collapse, the situation inside the society has further deteriorated as rainwater has inundated the premises. Residents alleged that the breach has allowed stray animals and even wild creatures like snakes to enter the compound, sparking grave health and safety worries.
A similar incident had occurred in 2023 when a wall had also collapsed, forcing residents to pool funds for its reconstruction. Despite their collective efforts, no assistance or intervention came from local authorities at the time.
Now, with the wall collapsing once again, frustrated residents are demanding immediate and long-pending action from the administration to prevent further damage and ensure their safety.
Meanwhile, across Zirakpur, locals continue to struggle with submerged roads, damaged property, and transport disruptions, as the monsoon shows no signs of relenting.
