While listing out the achievements of 2011,the Panjab University Vice Chancellor Prof R C Sobti did not forget to mention that to achieve these goals,he had not left no stone unturned. He added that his priorities in the next session would be to provide better facilities to the students and University employees by consolidating what has been done in the last five years of his tenure. Chandigarhs creative ambience has produced,in an amazingly short span of time,the best of professionals in every discipline. These views were expressed by Dr S S Bhatti,former principal of Chandigarh College of Architecture during his presentation on Making of the New City of Chandigarh. The talk was organised at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration,Punjab. Architects and other professionals from the USA,UK,and Belgium were present. Dr Bhatti said that the planning postulates must be respected and preserved if Chandigarh is to remain the City Beautiful.
