The fact-finding committee set up by the Haryana government to probe the charges levelled by IAS officer Ashok Khemka against Robert Vadra’s land deals will probe only two of Khemka letters within a month.

While the first letter pertains to Khemka ordering a probe into the under-valuation of land purchased by Vadra or his companies or his companies in Gurgaon,Faridabad,Mewat and Palwal districts,in the second letter,he had cancelled Vadra’s mutation in Shikohpur village.

When contacted,Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Chaudhery said the government has decided the terms of reference of the three-member committee and would look into the controversial land deals pointed out by Khemka. “The committee will look into both of Khemka’s letters to bring out facts. First on October 12,he had issued an order to inquire into land registration and then on October 15,he cancelled mutation of a certain piece of land in Shikohpur,” he added.

He also made it clear that the fact-finding panel will ascertain the circumstances and other aspects of both Khemka’s letters.

However,Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Krishna Mohan — the panel head — said he was yet to receive the terms of reference of the committee, which also includes IAS officers K K Jalan and Rajan Gupta.

There is still suspense whether the committee will take stock of the letter written by Director (Town and Country Planning) T C Gupta,in which he raised several questions regarding Khemka allegations.
