UT given two weeks for boundary wall between Sec 45 and Burail jail

In a major relief for residents of Sector 45,the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday directed the Chandigarh Administration to construct a boundary wall between Sector 45 and Burail Jail within two weeks.

Refusing to enter into the issue of who,the Municipal Corporation or the Chandigarh Housing Board,has to construct the boundary wall,the High Court made it clear that the “concerned” authority should construct the boundary wall within a period of two weeks. The directions were passed on a petition filed by residents of Sector 45.

The petitioners had contended that the Housing Board had undertaken to construct the boundary wall between Sector 45 and Burail but never did so.
