Uniform Code

Call it coincidence or Madhavan’s fascination to essay roles in uniform,in his upcoming film ‘Sikandar’,the actor will be buttoning up in olive green yet again. Madhavan played a Naval officer very early in his career in a TV serial ‘Sea Hawk’ followed by an Air Force officer in ‘Rang De Basanti’ and this time around,it’s an Army Officer in ‘Sikandar’. “It’s quite uncanny how I have played so many roles in the uniform! It must be because when I was young I wanted to grow up to become an Air Force Officer, but didn’t qualify because of my age. So now I end up fulfilling my wish in the films that I act in,” admits Madhavan. Now,the only uniform role left for Madhavan to play on screen is that of a police officer. “Guess I’m just left to do that role Officer now and I am waiting for it because I have a lot of admiration for our police force, and I do not wish to caricaturize it.” Yes sir!

Eco Cool

The green cause has now become somewhat trendy to be associated with. At a fashion show called Green Earth, designer Payal Jain (seen above with industrialist Kamal Mittal) showed a range of supposedly eco friendly garments in conjunction with the launch of Lotus Boulevard,a residential estate in Noida’s sector 100. Jain, who hasn’t participated in the last season of Wills India Lifestyle Fashion Week says she’s gearing up for this years’ show. “I had some personal commitments. I moved into a new factory and built a house. But this year I’ll be back,” shared Jain.
