Umang Foundation,a voluntary organisation, has decided to dedicate this year’s World Human Rights Day to the cause of thalassemic children in the state. The organisation works for thalassemic children and is struggling for their right to live, ensuring the essential supply of blood in blood banks of the state’s hospitals for transfusion at regular intervals.

Since the problem of blood shortage becomes acute during winter months,Umang has decided to hold four blood donation camps. The first camp will be launched by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in Shimla on December 11,along with a dedicated ‘Campaign against Thalassemia’.

The CM will also honour children with visual disabilities for their achievements in the field of sports.
