Two brothers from Punjab’s Kapurthala killed in US

The deceased have been identified as Dilraj Singh Deepi (31), a resident of Bidhipur village of Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district and his younger brother Gora (26), who had gone to the US around a month back. Deepi had been living in the US for the past 10 years and was married. Deepi had a general store in the US.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Amandeep Singh, Deepi’s cousin, said the attacker had joined the business a few months back. The attacker is yet to be named but according to sources, he hails from Kanjli in Kapurthala district.

According to sources, the accused had an argument with Dilraj and Gora outside the shopping mall on Wednesday at 3.45 pm. During the argument, the accused reportedly pulled out a gun and fired at the brothers.

Amandeep added, “We have learnt that the accused pumped 24 bullets into Deepi and 12 into Gora.” He further said the deceased’s parents, Kashmir Singh and mother Balwinder Kaur, will fly to the US on Friday.
