‘Today IT plays key security role’

Manish Verma said that the solutions being offered by them have been sold in the US and the inquiries in India are also increasing.

“We are living in times when there is a threat to the critical infrastructure. Anyone can come and create mischief. To prevent this, our company is offering solutions that combine IT security, physical security and process control systems,” said Manish Verma,CEO,Startup Farms International.

Verma said that the solutions being offered by them have been sold in the US and the inquiries in India are also increasing. The demand for such solutions is more from airports, sea ports, oil and gas companies and other critical departments that could be targets of attacks.

Citing an example,he said that in case a person working in a particular company loses his access card that is swiped to open doors, the company can block the card and not allow access if someone uses it.

However,if a person finds the card and tries to gain access,we would ensure that an alert is sent about someone trying to gain unauthorised entry. This would ensure that the security threat is taken care of.

While there is IT security and physical security in place, the company bridges the gap between these. The solutions blend IT security, physical security and process control systems.

Verma informed that the company would invest around Rs 100 crore in the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park by the end of next year. The investment would be utilised for increasing head count and expanding sales effort among other things.
