Police have arrested three youths who were involved in a theft at government college in Sector 1,Panchkula. The three youths who were arrested for the theft at the college were remanded to three days police custody.
The youths,who were identified as Sanjeev Kumar,Vimal and Mukesh,were arrested on Tuesday evening in a raid carried out by the officials of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) at Nada Saheb. The CIA incharge,Umeed Singh,said that the raid was carried out on specific information and from the possession of three people who were arrested,police have recovered the stolen goods which include LCD monitors,a UPS and keyboards. He said that the batteries that were also stolen from the college and later sold by the accused are yet to be recovered.
Police have also worked out at least five theft cases in the city and Manimajra after the arrest of four of the members of the gang that was also involved in robbing an Airtel dealer at the Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) area of cash of Rs 4.5 lakh earlier this month. One of the accused in the gang,Hashim,was remanded to two-day police custody by a local court on Wednesday. CIA officials said that from the possession of the gang which was also involved in the flesh trade in the city,they have recovered 2 Active scooters,1 motorcycle,and an Indica car.
Police officials said that these vehicles had been parked by the people outside their houses when they were stolen from there. Police officials said that they have to recover some more vehicles from the possession of the accused in the case.
