Three die in separate road accidents in city

Three persons have died in separate road accidents in the last 24 hours.

Three persons have died in separate road accidents in the last 24 hours. In the first accident,a junior engineer working with the Punjab Irrigation department died when the scooter he was driving was hit by an unknown vehicle on the road dividing Sector 43 and village Kajheri around 11.30 am on Tuesday. Balbir Singh lived in Sector 71,Mohali.

The police rushed him to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16,where he was declared dead on arrival. A case has been registered in Sector-36 police station.

In another accident,65-year-old Sukhdevi was hit by a Hyundai Accent car when she was crossing the road dividing Sector 39 and Maloya. The accident took place late on Monday evening. The victim was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital by Arinder Singh,who was driving the car. Later,she was referred to the PGI,where she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday afternoon. Arinder was arrested and later released on bail. Sukhdevi lived in Maloya.

In the third accident,an unidentified rickshaw-puller died after he was hit by an unknown vehicle Transport Area on Tuesday. The police rushed the victim to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
