Three arrested for fraud

The Panchkula police,on Thursday,arrested three persons,all directors of a company,for fraud in the name of real estate investments and insurance benefits.

The Panchkula police,on Thursday,arrested three persons,all directors of a company,for fraud in the name of real estate investments and insurance benefits. The accused have been identified as Mohinder Kumar,Naushad Rai and Ashok Kumar.

“The trio was accused of running a Axim Marketing Company in Sector 6,Panchkula. They allegedly used different modus operandi. In Panchkula,they promised 100-square yard plots at Rajasthan for

Rs 25,000 each,” said Panchkula Superintendent of Police Amitabh Dhillon.

Also,the ‘fraudsters’ reportedly fleeced money in the name of investments in the insurance sector. A resident of Sangrur,Narinder Pal Singh,has accused the trio of duping him of

Rs 2,67,000 by luring him into making insurance-related investments.

Two held for impersonation

CHANDIGARH: Two residents of Ropar were arrested on charges of impersonation during the Constables Recruitment Physical Test of the Chandigarh Police being conducted in Police Lines,Sector 26,on Thursday.

Interestingly,the actual candidate and the impersonator have a common name and hail from the same village. Their father’s names are also same.

The cheating came to light when the photograph on the form was found to be different. The police arrested Manpreet Singh from Police Lines who was participating in the test in place of his namesake.

A case under Section 419/420/120-B of the IPC has been registered in the Sector-26 police station while both the accused were sent to 14 days’ judicial custody.
