Freida Pinto and Mira Nair are set to attend the IFFI in Goa
One of the best-kept secrets of the 41st International Film Festival of India (IFFI),Goa is the presence of Freida Pinto. The Mumbai girl,who shot to international fame with Slumdog Millionaire,is expected at the festival on November 28 for the Indian premiere of her movie You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.
After the screening of this new Woody Allen movie,Pinto is likely to interact with the media, says Sankar Mohan,Joint Director of Directorate of Film Festivals. In the film,the 25-year-old Indian actor plays a mysterious woman who catches the attention of Josh Brolins character. The cast also includes Antonio Banderas,Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts.
The other big attraction of the festival is Mira Nair,who is scheduled to arrive on November 30. The festival is screening a retrospective of her work with eight of her short films apart from feature films like Mississippi Masala,Monsoon Wedding,Amelia and The Namesake. However,its her debut film,Salaam Bombay!,which will enjoy special treatment at IFFI. We are celebrating the 22nd anniversary of Salaam Bombay! with its cast and crew, says Mohan.
