The district administration Wednesday set up its first smart centre at the UHBVN Office, Power Colony, Industrial Area, Phase 2, to provide e-services to the citizens.
Under phase one, as many as 20 services have been planned, including e-registration, digital life certificates, death and birth certificates, senior citizen ID cards, caste/domicile/income certificates, sale of stamp paper/revenue stamps, etc.
A nominal fee will be charged for each of the services as per government norms, officials said.

The centre was inaugurated by Dr Dalip Singh, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR), Haryana, and Commissioner, Ambala Division, Neelam P Kasni.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said that e-facilities would bring transparency in the functioning of the government.
“Due to online services, registration of properties has increased manifold. As many as 3.50 lakh registries have been done online,” said Dr Singh.
He distributed birth and death certificates, senior citizen certificates and other certificates to the people present on the occasion.
Two more smart centres will be set up in Sector 4, MDC, and in the office of Haryana Electricity Department, Gandhi Chowk, Kalka.
