Security guard held,granted bail in AIL molestation case

She disclosed that since the police had registered an FIR in the matter,the Institute submitted the relevant records and facts of the case to the police for further investigation. “Instead of conducting a probe on our own,we had asked the police authorities to proceed further in the case on merit,” revealed Dr Joshi,adding that the victim student was assured of full support,safety and security.

According to her,the victim student was regularly attending her classes and after the removal of the accused security guard from duty,she had no issues with the Institute. Phase VIII SHO Kulbhushan said that the accused was arrested and released on bail after preliminary interrogation.

“Though he had pleaded innocence,we are preparing a challan against him and will soon submit it before the illaqa magistrate for his trial,” said the SHO. On the evening of January 23,a BA LLB hosteler had left the institute for a beauty parlour after making an entry at the college gate register at 6.20 pm.

“At 8 pm when I returned,I asked Amandeep,who was on duty at the gate,to put my return time entry at 7.30 pm,which was the last time to report back to the college,instead of 8 pm,upon which he asked me what I would give him in return,” she alleged. When she told the guard that her friend would pay him some money for the favour,he asked her to enter through a small gate.

“As I entered the college campus,he escorted me towards the Registrar’s office and on the way in the dark area,he caught hold of me and tried to molest me,” the 19-year-old student had alleged. She added that she was quick enough to free herself from Amandeep’s clutches and run inside the college hostel.
