Report confirms gangrape on minor,two held

The Mohali police on Sunday arrested the two accused Manjeet Singh and Deep Singh involved in the alleged gangrape of a minor girl.

The Mohali police on Sunday arrested the two accused Manjeet Singh and Deep Singh involved in the alleged gangrape of a minor girl. The two have been taken in one-day police remand.

The medical examination of the minor girl has confirmed rape,the police said,adding that the interrogation of the two will throw more light on the case.

The 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by the two at Chando Gobindgarh village in Mohali on Friday afternoon. The incident came to light on Saturday when the Class VII student reported the matter to the police.

Both the accused resided in the same village and Manjeet Singh happens to be the distant relative of the victim. Deep,who hails from a Jat Sikh family,is married while Manjeet is a bachelor,said the police officer. Both the accused are daily wagers.
