Blaming former Haryana Director General of Police S P S Rathore, convicted for molesting Ruchika Girhotra, for changing his stand, the Haryana government today requested the Punjab and Haryana High Court to direct Rathore to clarify his stand as to on what ground he was demanding parole.
Earlier,Advocate Abha Rathore, wife of Rathore, had demanded parole for her husband on health grounds. However, the demand was later changed on the ground that Rathore wants parole on agricultural grounds. Today during the resumed hearing of the petition filed by Rathore last month,Abha complained that Haryana had not filed a response.
On the contrary, the state took a dig at the indecisiveness of Rathore and submitted that Rathore be asked to confirm on what grounds is he seeking parole. Responding to the averment,Abha stated that Rathore is demanding parole on the ground to harvest. She undertook to withdraw health grounds producing a hand written note of Rathore wherein he has requested the court to release him on parole so that he can harvest. The state has been asked to file its response by November 23. It might be mentioned here that Rathores application demanding bail is pending before the apex court.
