Those arrested have been identified as Jagdish Singh alias Jagga and Shubhdeep Singh Aulakh alias Shubh. Both the accused were involved in a deadly attack in Nanded in Maharashtra on February 10, said the police. They recovered two .32 bore pistols and five rounds from the accused.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X that in an intelligence-based operation, State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Mohali, apprehended the two key operatives of BKI. “It’s a major blow to cross-border terror networks,” he said.
“As per their initial disclosure, the accused committed a murder and severely injured another in Nanded, Maharashtra, on February 10, following Rinda’s directions. They were also instructed to carry out targeted killings in Punjab as part of a larger coordinated terror operation,” he added.
