PU students enjoy colours,remain wary of hooligans

Students of Panjab University celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm on the campus.

Students of Panjab University celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm on the campus. The celebration brought together students from different departments of the University. Faces painted with different colours,students were seen chasing each other with water balloons. At Student Centre,boys and girls from different departments sang and danced.

Heng Wah,a student of DAV College,Sector 10,said,“We are enjoying the festival by using herbal colors. Also,we are not using any colour which can damage the skin.”

While some of the students enjoy the festival a day before,others presented their view against hooliganism and eve teasing.

Aditi Ahuja,student of school of communication studies told Newsline that they did not feel safe walking on the campus due to hooliganism.

A similar view came from Pooja Sawhney,student of French Department,“There should be a healthy celebration of the festivity between boys and girls but this is not seen these days. There are a lot of cases being reported of molestation and eve teasing. In addition to this,colours are thrown on the strangers unconscious of the fact that there can be an accident on the road while driving.”

Department of music organised a holi gayan in the new building of department.
