PU student council members take oath

Amit Bhatia took oath as president of the student council and promised that he would work towards the development of the student community and ensure peace in the campus.

The other three council members are Deepika Thakur as secretary,Gaurav in post of joint secretary and Virender Boora as vice-president.

Professor Sobti also urged the students to maintain discipline in the campus and be more responsible.

Website outdated

The website of the Punjab University (PU),which is visited everyday by hundreds of people from the country and abroad,is disseminating outdated information.

The Department of English,which had been renamed as the Department of English and Cultural Studies many months ago,still goes as the old name on the PU website.

Professor Manju Jaidka is shown as the chairperson of the department,who actually held the post five years ago.

Professor Rana Nayar is the present chairperson of the department.

Similarly,many other posts have not been updated and those who have already left are shown as occupying important positions.
