PEC alumni take a trip back to golden days

The conversation bounced from exams to pranks at the Punjab Engineering College University of Technology as about 400 former students got together for the alumni meet organized by PEC Old Students Association.

The conversation bounced from exams to pranks at the Punjab Engineering College (PEC) University of Technology as about 400 former students got together for the alumni meet organized by PEC Old Students Association (PECOSA). Gathered here to facilitate the batches of ’61,’76,’86 and ’96,“It’s a time when we are living college life again,” says RP Sharma,treasurer,PECOSA,as he shows us the itinerary of the meet that’s abuzz with inspirational story telling sessions,presentation of mementos,live music,dance,cultural program,fireworks,cocktail and dinner. There are also activities for children and spouses.

Amandeep Singh,a pass-out of 1996 came for the meet. “Can’t miss out on this one. “It’s here we became who we are and made lasting friends,” he tells us their group of 15 caught up on old time here. This,while Adesh Sidhu came from California and Suman Narula from Detroit. “The idea is that we do not loose touch with who we are,” says Prof Priyavrat Thareja,Head,Metallurgical Engineering Department.

PEC Director Manoj Datta gave a glimpse of the college that was,is and will be while PECOSA president Anurag Aggarwal welcomed the PEC alumni. Attending were Madan Lal Singla,leader of the team that designed Chandrayan,and R K Dhiman,MES Services and VSM awardee.
