The officials of Punjab Cricket Association led by MP Pandove,secretary,PCA,met ML Sharma,sports director,Chandigarh and other officials at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium to streamline the preparations for the upcoming three-day cricket match between Australia and Board President’s XI to be held at the stadium from September 25 to September 27.
Pandove,who presided over the meeting,discussed all the details about the conduct of the match with Sharma and matters such as ground preparation,gate management,security and rates of entry tickets were also discussed.
The three-day match is being organised by Punjab Cricket Association and all the facilities for the match will be provided by Chandigarh Administration.
The ground preparation and the other technical aspects of the game will be looked after by UT Sports Department and PCA would provide all the support needed in terms of man power and cricketing equipment.
We are expecting a lot of youngsters to see the match and hence we have kept the ticket rates very low. 80 percent of the total tickets will be reserved for the students and the tickets will cost Rs 30 for three days and Rs 50 for three days in the general category. The VIP block tickets will be priced at Rs 150 for three days, said Pandove. He also stated that after meeting the expenses for the match,the surplus ampunt will be given to Chandigarh Sports Council. He also added that the stay,transport and air travel expenses of the teams will be taken care by the BCCI.
The teams will be staying at Hotel Mountview and various committees have been formed to look into various matters regarding the match and PCA is expecting full support from the UT Administration. The Australian team will arrive at Chandigarh on September 20.
