After inspecting the security arrangements in several sensitive areas of Shimla over three days, a National Security Guard (NSG) team returned on Wednesday.

The inspection covered the Jakhu Hanuman Temple, temple approach roads, ropeway, nearby forests, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) school, and adjacent residential areas. The NSG team, along with the temple management and district administration officials, carried out a detailed security review. Following this, the NSG provided suggestions to the district administration for strengthening temple security.

Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said on Thursday, “A team of NSG officials returned yesterday. It was the first time in recent times that the NSG came and inspected the Jakhu temple. We are yet to receive detailed written suggestions from the National Security Guard. The Jakhu Temple is located in a sensitive place… most VVIPs who come to Shimla visit this religious place. The Jakhu temple is managed by a trust. Whatever suggestions come from the NSG, we will definitely implement.”
