The aim is not only to manage the waste items, but also to develop the culture of depositing used materials/items/products at RRR centres by the citizens. The campaign will continue till June 5 (World Environment Day) and the residents are urged to donate used/old items/products/materials at the RRR centres, so that they can be further donated to needy persons/NGOs for reusing and recycling. The centres would remain operational from 7am to 2pm till June 5. The residents can donate used/old clothes, books, electronic items, sports equipment etc.

E-rickshaws have also been deputed to make announcements in the city and spread awareness among the residents regarding the campaign. The residents can also put the products/material in the e-rickshaw and those will then be taken to RRR centres.

The residents are also being apprised of the campaign and the activities being taken up by the civic body through social media networks.

The remaining 18 RRR centres situated in different parts of the city were also inaugurated by respective MLAs.
MC commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal stated that it is a good sign that residents have already started donating items at the RRR centres and we are expecting an overwhelming response in the coming days.
