The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday moved an application before NIA court in Panchkula for unsealing of seized material from the site of the Samjhauta blast.
The application stated: Apart from the instant case (Samjhuata blasts),National Investigation Agency is investigating some other bomb blast cases also,viz.,Ajmer blast case,Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blast case,Malegaon blast case and Moddasa blast case. That,to unearth the entire larger conspiracy of said blast cases,the comparison of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) as well as other material object of this case with the IEDs and other exhibits of other cases is required to be done by a team of experts from Central Forensic Science Laboratory,Hyderabad,on 21/22.08.2011 at NIA Camp office Panchkula.
The materials recovered during investigations into the Samjhauta blast case was submitted with chargesheet on June 20 and is currently sealed in the Malkhana of NIA Camp office at Panchkula. It included 33 items match box containing plastic envelope having yellowish coloured mixture,which was taken out of the pipe bomb,burnt metal strips of suitcase IED number 2,burnt debris recovered from the train compartments,one metallic luggage carrier (exploded) damaged in the central region recovered from a compartment,9 mm pistol,a burnt walkie-talkie set,two empty cartridges and one bullet,India and Pakistan currency notes and plastic bottles containing chemicals. There is also a broken dark grey coloured suitcase containing battery,electric circuit,clock and dried metal pieces.
The NIA has assured the court that after doing the needful,material object shall be re-sealed and deposited in the its Panchkula camp office.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Subhas Mehla has given time till August 17 to the defence side to file a reply to NIAs application.
