UT Administration will be installing 60 new bus queue shelters at various locations in the city. Initially five such shelters will be installed and once the designs are approved,the rest will follow.
Made of stainless steel,each bus queue shelter will cost around Rs 15 lakh. A majority of these structures will be set-up in the southern sectors where there has been more demand. The first such shelter has been installed at Sector 47. The shelters will have electronic display boards,seating arrangement as well as space for advertisements.
Superintending Engineer S K Chadha said that the process of installation of the bus queue shelters has started and in the coming days will be installed at different locations.
The construction of bus queue shelters had earlier faced a road block,with the responsibility for their construction shifting between the UT Administration and MC.
