Mohali mayor inaugurates ₹Rs 17 lakh Yoga Shed at Silvi Park, Phase-10

Mohali Mayor Amarjeet Singh Jeeti Sidhu Wednesday inaugurated the construction of a ₹Rs 17 lakh Yoga Shed at Silvi Park, Phase-10, promising completion within 15 days to provide uninterrupted space for daily yoga sessions.

Sidhu said the idea emerged after a public interaction held at the park, where residents and senior citizens highlighted key needs — including a motor-operated fountain, a covered yoga shed, and more dustbins.“Senior citizens often complained that yoga sessions were disrupted by bad weather. This shed will ensure their routine remains undisturbed,” the mayor noted.

He assured that the fountain would soon be operational and dustbins, already procured, would be installed across the park shortly. Praising the elderly community, Sidhu added, “If senior citizens are happy, it means the entire city is happy. Their contribution to Mohali’s growth deserves our respect and comfort.”

The event saw the presence of councilor Kamalpreet Singh Bani, Yoga Incharge Surjit Singh, and several prominent locals, including Bala Singh, Jaswinder Sharma, Sunny Kanda, Kulwant Singh, Darshan Dhaliwal, B S Chattha, Ajaib Singh, Nirmal Singh Chahal, Jasbir Singh Sidhu, Diljit Singh, Avtar Singh, S S Dhanoa, Gurvinder Singh Dhaliwal, Sukhbir Singh Virk, Colonel Singh, Dharam Singh, and J P Dhoki.
