Minor raped,three held

One person was arrested on charges of raping a minor girl while two others,including a woman,were arrested for assisting in the crime. The police have booked Surinder Singh,a resident of Sector 56; Sarabjit Kaur and Gurwinder Singh were arrested for abetting rape. They were produced in court on Friday and remanded in 14-day judicial custody.

The victim is a minor and student of Class X. In her complaint,the victim alleged that Sarabjit Kaur (35),a neighbour,called her home on the pretext of some work. There,she introduced her to Gurwinder Singh (36) alias Kala. They were later joined by Surinder Singh (20) alias Golu,who is an autorickshaw driver. Sarabjit asked the victim to sleep with Surinder,but she refused.

Sarabjit then forced her inside a room and locked it from outside. She was then raped.

The victim alleged that the trio threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police; but she told her mother,who then intimated the police. A case was registered after her medical examination.
