Ludhiana doc held in PMET scam

Investigations into the Punjab PMET scam by the Special Investigation Team have made further headway with the arrest of a Ludhiana-based doctor.

Investigations into the Punjab PMET scam by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) have made further headway with the arrest of a Ludhiana-based doctor.

With this,the number of arrested persons has reached four; three others,including a Makhu doctor,a Ludhiana middleman and a Delhi medical college student,were nabbed earlier.

Sources said Ludhiana doctor Swatantar Kumar would be presented before a Faridkot court on Monday. Sources said Swatantar had allegedly paid a hefty sum to middlemen for securing admission of his daughter into a medical college. He reportedly also lured some others into the racket. The scam involves a well-oiled all-India network of middlemen,imposters and prospective candidates.
